S.T.E.A.M. Studio Lab

Studio Lab is Walgrove’s own unique, progressive, and ever-evolving program.

It was started with the intent to provide students with a classroom where they can develop the necessary skills in today’s world: critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, creativity, and, thanks to all of those: innovation.

Our program is based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community which is achieved through exploration and discovery. It is a supportive and enriching environment based on the interests of children. The hands on projects are generally focused on the S.T.E.A.M. disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics), as well as Art, and Art Theory. They are designed to aim to teach students 21st century skills as well as content.

This instructional approach is built upon authentic learning activities that engage student interest and motivation. We strive to involve children in cross-discipline and project-based explorations that instill within them a lifelong curiosity about art and science. We challenge them to learn how to solve problems and seek solutions to issues while facing their own communities and the world.

In Studio Lab, it is about the process.
